Ergebnisse einer repräsentativen Bevölkerungsumfrage

"Environmental Awareness in Germany" is a study published every two years by the Federal Environment Ministry together with the Federal Environment Agency.

In 2021, the environmental awareness study will have been in existence for 25 years. Started in 1996, it provides a wide range of insights into the population's awareness, attitudes and behavior with regard to the environment. For this edition of the study, more than 2,000 citizens aged 14 and older were interviewed in an online survey at the end of 2020. The current focus topic deals with attitudes towards climate change and climate protection and the possible change in society.

The period before and during the current survey was heavily dominated by the Corona pandemic. Nevertheless, the topic of environmental and climate protection is not losing its importance. As in previous years, two-thirds of respondents rate this topic as "very important".
