On 4 November, the German government delegation, including Minister Barbara Hendricks, Parliamentary State Secretary Rita Schwarzelühr-Sutter and State Secretary Jochen Flasbarth, will travel with NGO and industry representatives and journalists to the 23rd Climate Change Conference in Bonn.

Deutsche Bahn is putting a chartered train, the "Train to Bonn", into service for the occasion, enabling a climate-friendly journey to the conference. "In Bonn we want to advance international climate action and work on the implementation of the Paris Agreement. But we also want to set a high environmental standard in running the conference itself. Arriving on a carbon-neutral train is a fitting start," commented Federal Environment Minister Barbara Hendricks.

Approximately 250 passengers from politics, industry, civil society and the media will be on board. They will use the six-hour journey for preliminary discussions in a special programme coach and at tables addressing individual climate issues. The chartered train will be the very first to arrive at the new UN Campus station in Bonn. The UN Climate Change Conference begins on Monday, 6 November.
