At the end of 2023, the German government adopted the Five-Point Plan of the Federal Government on Protection against Endocrine Disruptors, with the aim of further expanding the regulation of substances that interfere with the functions of the hormonal system. Another goal is to improve public information on the risks of these endocrine disruptors and on the measures and provisions already in place. In cooperation with government stakeholders, especially the following measures are planned:

  1. Further improving the regulation of endocrine disruptors, for example working to strengthen provisions at EU level.
  2. Improving public information about existing risks, for instance via associations and other civil society multipliers.
  3. Building knowledge and strengthening international cooperation, for instance through research projects.
