Ergebnisse einer repräsentativen Bevölkerungsumfrage

"Environmental Awareness in Germany" is a study published every two years by the Federal Environment Ministry together with the Federal Environment Agency.

In 2022, it became apparent that environmental and climate protection continues to be an important issue for people in Germany, ranking fifth among the most important challenges. However, people were also concerned with other social problems such as the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine, the associated energy crisis and high inflation, which slowly diminished the significance of the corona pandemic.

The study on the environmentally and climate-friendly restructuring of the German economy made it clear that a large majority supports an ambitious ecological policy. However, social concerns must be sufficiently taken into account so that the economic restructuring is supported by the population. The survey also showed that awareness of the health consequences of climate change has increased, presumably due to increasingly noticeable effects such as extreme weather events and droughts in Germany.
