Side Event: Too much and too little
Accelerating IWRM for climate-resilient water management and ecosystem conservation
As part of the UN 2023 Water Conference (22-24 March, New York), the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development of the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Niger Basin Authority, jointly host a high-level side event on the topic of water and climate titled "Too much and too little - Accelerating IWRM for climate-resilient water management and ecosystem conservation".
The aim of this high-level event is to showcase two new projects under the International Climate Initiative (Democratic Republic of Congo and Niger Basin) to demonstrate that holistic approaches such as Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) and strengthening the water-climate nexus are crucial for the sustainable management of our water resources.
This can not only protect our ecosystems but also have enormous potential for mitigation of and adaptation to climate change.The high-level side event will be opened by the Federal Minister for the Environment, Steffi Lemke. It can be followed via the BMUV Livestream.
