Abfallwirtschaft in Deutschland 2023

01.04.2023 | Brochure

Facts, data, graphics

Far too much waste is still being generated in Germany. The amount of waste reflects the level of material wealth, but there are ways and opportunities to decouple wealth and the amount of waste. In the case of municipal waste in particular, further efforts towards conscious consumption and thus towards waste avoidance are essential. Waste avoidance is necessary, but not an alternative to the circular economy.

This brochure is intended to show what citizens can achieve together with their municipalities and the economy, and on the other hand it is intended to set an example for states that want to close their material cycles in an ecologically sensible way. Because circular economy is above all an international task to which German companies, scientific institutions and municipal practitioners can contribute with their know-how, services and modern technologies.
